Happy B'day Jer

So, I'm a day late. Nobody reads this thing on Sunday anyway. Jer turned 33 over the weekend, thus heralding in the 6 week period that refer to him as "Old Timer". It's a tradition that goes back a good 10 years and is just chock full of Lethal Weapon quotes.

Finally managed to update the DVD listing with a couple of movies I've gotten since x-mas. Modern Vampires wasn't the movie I thought it was. This one sucks so bad I haven't finished watching it (and there's ample nudity in it too). Judge Dredd, the old Stallone pic that was ok, and it's still, well, ok. Finally, The Fast and the Furious was one of those movies I've been waiting to come out since seeing it at the theater. It just makes me want to go out and drive like an idiot!

New Cam Toon!

After a month (or so) I finally got on the ball and made a new camtoon. Find out what the Kurt Angle Public Service Anouncement is all about. Or if it even qualifies as a public service announcement? Also up is the debut of Duke Nukem!

New Site Design

This is the first page for the work in progress that will be known as Russellmania 4.0 It\'s been awhile since I made any significant changes, and these will qualify as significant. Paring down on the content, hopefully making updating more often easier. The things that have survived the revision (at least so far) are:

• Web Cam - more people check in on me than I thought.
• CamToons - This is what most people come looking for.
• Wrestling Babe of the Day - This one\'s just my personal favorite, so I\'m keeping it.
• WWF Live - Will incorporate the highlights of the old wrestling section. It\'ll still have the JasonTracker (so he can be kept up with), along with updates on any wrestling events I make it. Maybe some news, I\'m not sure yet.
• DVD The other half of who comes here want to know what movies of mine they can borrow. This is where the listing lives. Hopefully with improved search capability!

HeroQuest - Core Set Bad Guys

My project for this year is to paint the HeroQuest core set. Along with that is working with Jerry on 3D printing the board, but that's a bullet for another time. The interesting part of this project is that I have no idea how HeroQuest plays. I just like the idea of a boardgame from the 80s (barely), that I know I would have loved back then, being re-released 30 years later. I like the idea of getting together with Jer and Keith for a good old fashioned game night and having upgraded and pimped out pieces. Maybe it'll happen?

For the last couple of months I've been working on the bad guys from the core set, using the character cards as the template for how to paint the minis. Sometimes I've veered a little far from the card art - see the Orcs, mainly - but I also have to stick to paint approaches that work for me.

After these, there are 5 more mini figures to paint. 4 heroes and what I think is the main bad guy, which I can't find an image/painting reference for. I guess I'll need to Google that later. The core set also has dungeon furniture and whatnot, which is included in my "paint the core set" memo. 3/4 through the year - I should be able to finish this.
