DVD Update

06.11.2002

To celebrate newly christened parents Jerry and Elaine staying at home, I delivered unto them a bag full of movies yesterday - about 20 or so I think. While I was in the mood, I updated the dvd list with a couple of weeks worth of movies (like Vanilla Sky and the long overdue Men In Black).

The funny part is, both Jerry and I are computer nerds (duh, look at this site). I've got my movie list on the site, mainly for me to keep up with what I've got, but also so when somebody asks "What movies do you have?" I say "look at my website" instead of rattling off a couple of hundred titles. So what does Jerry do? he calls me at home and asks "What new movies do you have?" What do I do? I get in front of the movies and start spouting off titles. About a quarter of the way through I tell him "you know I've got a website for this", at which point I keep rattling off titles.

The Camtoons Cometh

06.10.2002

Only a week after I teased that I would have them ready, a new batch of camtoons is up and available for your consuption! 6 new episodes are here (and as an added teaser, some of them are setting up future story lines - I think). Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Back To My Roots

06.07.2002

Last night, I went with "the guys from work" to our local adult entertainment superstore, i.e. Visions. I hadn't been in about 3 years, and since then they've remodeled, moved the front door, and pretty much rotated all the strippers I knew from the good old days out.

Except Mia, my wrestling ticket connection (see the Randy Savage Story for details). The funny part was that although it had been 3 years since I had been there, she still remembered me (and the Randy Savage Story). The main things I learned last night was that (1) it's more fun to go to a strip club with a group of people, and (2) I think I've outgrown going to strip clubs. It's Gina's fault, that's all I've got to say.

Now I'm Crazy Uncle Russ

06.06.2002

Jerry and Elaine had their first kid last night (More details at Jerry's Site). Everything went well, everybody is happy and healthy. I guess I was excited too, I kept waking up every hour and a half last night.

Now then, what's the first thing I should teach the little newborn Poplin child? Perhaps it should be to teach her what her alternate name is! After all, when it comes to Poplin's, I never call any of them bytheir given names, and that includes pets. So, much like was done with the cats, Helen Chandler Poplin will now be subject of Russ' Name of the Week contest, where we try an alternate name out just to see how it sounds. I think the first nominee will be the shortened form of Helen: Hel! Welcome Hel!

Enter The XBox

06.03.2002

About 2 weeks ago, while surfing eBay, I came across an auction for the XBox version of WWF Raw for half price. Thinking it was a good deal, I bid on it, and actually wound up winning it. The funny part is, I don't have an XBox, I've got a PS2. But, I've got access to 2 XBoxes (XBoxi?) that I can use, so it's not a totally stupid purchase.

Except over the weekend, I thought it would be cool to actually have an XBox. They've dropped the price. There are a couple of XBox exclusive games that would be nice to have. On top of it all, I've just paid off a credit card so I've even got the money.

So I got one.

And I played it over the weekend.

And Gina keeps kicking my but on the fighting game (Dead or Alive 3) that I got with the console. Curse her limber fingers!

Blog Archive

As always, correct spelling is optional in any blog entry. Keep in mind that any links more than a year old may not be active, especially the ones pointing back to Russellmania (I like to move things around!).

Tags have been added to posts back to 2005. There may be an occasional old blog that gets added to the tag list, but in reality what could be noteworthy from that far back?
