Last night I was watching the True Hollywood Story on E! (That's the channel "E!", not that I was that excited to be watching it). They were featuring the story of Ginger Lynn Allen and her life from small town girl to porn star to Hollywood actress to porn star, except they were taking 2 hours to tell the story instead of the 12 words I used. Plus, they had lots of pixelated private parts, whereas I just had those 12 words. During the course of the show, they interviewed a screenwriter who was talking about how rough it is to make it in Hollywood. I started to chuckle after they showed her name on the screen: Penny Antine. Kind of like "penny ante". Reminds me of growing up as "Rusty Spears".
Thinking that no one would pick a name like that, I tried a little investigating to see if that was indeed her real name. It appears that besides being a scrennwriter, she also writes.... porn! On top of that, she's got an alias: Raven Touchstone. And I thought Penny Antine sounded fake.
For me, Wednesday was the 2nd half of Sunday. Well, at least it was the last 2 ro 3 hours. After I got home yesterday I finished up things that I started on Sunday.
Sunday: Grilled some steaks
Wednesday: Ate the last steak.
Sunday: Washed Clothes
Wednesday: Folded and put up clothes.
Sunday: Started watching Resident Evil.
Wednesday: Finished watching last half hour of Resident Evil.
Do I lead an exciting life or what?
I saw the weirdest thing in front of me at a red light this morning. Stopped ahead of me was your typical contractors truck. Toolboxes, tools, cooler, ladder. It was the ladder that got my attention. It had the regular, silver aluminum steps, but the rest of it was pink. Pink. A perfect match for Barbie pink. You know that color pink. You can look down an aisle at a toy store, see that one side is pink (that special color pink!) and you say "Hey, it's the Barbie aisle". If you're a boy, you quickly pass by, hoping that no one saw you and has pegged you as a pervert. If you're a girl, you wonder why all the boys scurry past the aisle like it contains little pink packages of the bubonic plague.
Sorry, got caught on a little tangent there. But still, the ladder was pink. Granted, you could tell once you started to look at the ladder that it was originally red, and that theoretically years of sun and rain made the red fade. But pink? Contractingis a manly job. Once you notice that your manly ladder has faded to pink, wouldn't it be more of a business move to make sure you image says "rugged he-man able to twist steel with my bare hands, just look at my manly ladder!" as opposed to a ladder that says "welcome to my tea party"?
Of course, all this is moot if the guy driving the truck was named Ken...
After weeks of things coming up, I finally made it to Evil Matt's to watch Raw last night. I think it was the first time I was around people that weren't saying "It's fake" or "So-and-so is going to win this one". It was a pleasant change, watching with people who know what's going on. Even better waa throwing aorund jokes that only regular wrestling watchers would understand. Or at least I think those are the only people that would understand. So odds are I'm going to barge in on Evil Matt & Co more often on Monday nights, as long as I can keep all that other crap that tries to creep up at bay.
I just have to remember to quell my urges to lay the smackdown on someone as the testosterone laden cheering rises as we watch.
Poetic sounding, eh?
This weekend I managed to do something I haven't done in a while: relax at home. I did a little running around on Saturday, making some returns, getting groceries, things like that, but my goal was to catch up on some movie watching while doing laundry Sunday. For the most part, I think I succeeded. I finally watched Monsters Ball (and I'm not too sure what it was about). Thanks to hackers and the internet, I also watched the new Austin Powers movie't stay awake any longer - it wasn't the movie, I had just been fighting the urge to take a nap all day. Resident Evil is pretty good so far - it feels like a video game, and since it's based on a video game I'm guessing that's a good thing. Plus, I'm partial to anything with Milla Jovovich in it. So, with some luck I'll finish watching it tonight before journeying further into the boonies to watch Raw (which I'll save an explanation for until tomorrow).
How's that for a teaser?
As always, correct spelling is optional in any blog entry. Keep in mind that any links more than a year old may not be active, especially the ones pointing back to Russellmania (I like to move things around!).
Tags have been added to posts back to 2005. There may be an occasional old blog that gets added to the tag list, but in reality what could be noteworthy from that far back?
