I've managed to add a new camtoon this week.

The hard part about the post-virus/new hard drive/re-installing everything is the little things you forget. Like fonts. I had to track down the comic font last night. You would think it wouldn't be too hard since it's a Microsoft font, but it seems Microsoft no longer supports their web fonts.

Virus Aftermath

I fought the parite.b and the.... parite.b won.

I managed to finally track down some software that would remove the parite.b virus, but I was a little bit too late. I had almost 400 .exe files infected, which made them inoperable. BitDefender managed to remove the virus from most of the files, but not all.

The bright side is that I used this as an excuse to get a bigger hard drive and install fresh copies of all my software. It seems like my browser isn't crashing anymore, so in a weird way maybe it all was worth it.

Except for the Saturday I spent trying to install everything again. I hate installing! I suck at it!

Win32.Parite.B

For months, my pc at home has been giving me trouble when I'm surfing the internet. Sometimes it'll take 10 minutes, sometimes an hour, but for no reason my browser will crash. IE, Mozilla, Netscape, it doesn't matter which I'm using, they all crash. I get a little crazy installing (and uninstalling, and installing again) components for browsers, so I was just guessing that I've done something stupid and now I'm paying the price.

This week the pc has been acting weirder. Whenever I boot up, the printer acts like it's going to print, then says "printing canceled". Yes, my printer speaks. EditPad was corrupted again Thursay, so I reinstalled it (again) and it worked fine.

Getting fed up, I fina't do anything to get rid of the blasted thing. I downloaded an app to get rid of the virus, but it looks like all it did was comment out an entry in the registry. It's finally scanning the files on the hard drives (and if it's like anything else, it'll take all night), but with any luck it'll get rid of the virus - and maybe I can surf crash-free yet again....

4-Legged chick born in Delaware. That's a chicken, not a babe. Poor thing will never be able to compete in any 3-legged races.

Technical Difficulties Begone!

After uninstalling and then reinstalling the webcam software and drivers, I was once again able to save pictures and can thus bring you a new camtoon.

Along the way, I had to re-install EditPad too. Maybe I've managed to get some kind of freaky virus?
