Making Jerry Snort

07.30.2003

Lando Last week, from nowhere, I did my Billy Dee Williams/Lando Calrissian impression for the first time. I can't remember the circumstances, other than seeing Wayne Brady do an impression the night before on Whose Line Is It Anyway, but I said to Jerry these words:

"Han. Chewie. Give me back my ship."

And then Jerry snorted.

Almost 20 years I've known the man, and never before hadI heard him snort. Was it my dead-on Billy Dee impression? Only if you like bad Howard Cosell impressions. Was it that it was so completely out of context I caught him off guard? Possibly. Is fatherhood slowly draining him of all sanity? Probably.

So even though nobody else in the world will get a chuckle out of it, Jer can geta laugh from today's pic. And maybe one day he'll get his ship back.

Camtoon Tuesday

07.29.2003

After a double dose of camtoons last week, the follow up is ready. And on time, too!

And on the random news front...

As is the trend with Star Trek series and their third seasons, Enterprise is shifting to a more action oriented theme. I think I've watched 2 episodes of Enterprise. I don't feel as if I've missed anything.

In Palm Bay, Fl, a man picked a display computer off a Wal-Mart shelf and left before being caught in the parkinglot. Maybe they need to put price tags on the display models?

Update Time

07.28.2003

Over the weekend, I started to install some new goodies for the pc at home. I got both hardware and software goodies to make up for being forced to reformat the hard drive from the virus last week, so this way I could have some fun. On my list ofthings to install:

  1. DVD Burner
  2. Graphics Card, because I needed to free up a PCI slot.
  3. Another Gig of memory
  4. 2nd IDE Controller
  5. Star Trek Elite Force II, because I'm about due a game to play.
  6. Dazzle MovieStar, because it looks like something fun to play with.

I got the memory, graphics card, and ide controller installed Saturday. I've got to open the case one more time and try to retrieve some Quickbooks files from the old hard drive before wiping it completely, so that'll be the time to install the DVD burner.

Yo Joe!

07.24.2003

I've been a fan of GI Joe, both in comic form and toys, for almost as long as I can remember. When Marvel re-introduced the GI Joe comic in the 1982, I remember buying the first issue at my local convenience store (now a Conoco). Soon after, I bought my first action figure - Flash, the Laser Trooper, along with a jetpack. That blew my allowance for the week, so Flash was stuck flying around my grandmothers living room shooting at bad guys hidden in the well fortified cushions while trying to escape the evildoer who had taken over his jetpack by remote control!

Which is worse, my overactive imagination at that time, or that I remember it all?

I recently saw that they are making a CGI cartoon. There are some commercials that look pretty good, so it makes me look forward to it even more. Maybe I can relive my childhood all over again? Now I've got to track down Flash and that jetpack!

Action Packed Wednesday

07.23.2003

I've managed to make my most action packed camtoon ever! It's got so much action there's extra panels! Granted, they're smaller than the normal panel, but that's the price of action packed!

Jer showed me a ping pong game, low-tech Matrix style yesterday. I think I was more impressed with the what it took to think up some of the things these guys were doing (go look, it's worth it).

Blog Archive

As always, correct spelling is optional in any blog entry. Keep in mind that any links more than a year old may not be active, especially the ones pointing back to Russellmania (I like to move things around!).

Tags have been added to posts back to 2005. There may be an occasional old blog that gets added to the tag list, but in reality what could be noteworthy from that far back?
