Camtoon Tuesday

06.03.2003

I forgot to watch last night's first episode of Monster House, but I somehow get the feeling I didn't miss anything.

But I did manage to get the camtoon up!

Monster <strike>Garage</strike> House

06.02.2003

I haven't been as huge a fan of Monster Garage as most of the people I know, but I'm tempted to watch tonights premier of the spin off series, Monster House. I'm not sure how it's going to differ from the umpteen other change-your-house-while-you're-gone shows. Maybe the house will transform into something else (ooh, agarage maybe!)? I'll find out tonight.

Russellmania Candian Style

05.30.2003

In the past I've enjoyed seeing who else enjoys the Russellmania name. I've noted before that the .net extension belongs to the Russell family of (I think) King Salmon, Alaska, while the .org goes to an in process work for a newsletter. A few days ago I discovered the Canadian versions of Russellmania: Russellmania.ca.

I don't know why, but I always feel a special relationship with those I share a partial domain name with. I'm just weird that way.

Manhood & Cajones

05.29.2003

Yesterday I became a man. During an odd, midweek Wal-Mart trip, I bought my very first roll of duct tape. Yes, I know own 10 yards, according to the label, of manhood proving fixedness. Soon my garden hose (for which I have no garden) will no longer leak so that I can once again wash my truck (that I've personally washed twice in almost 3 years). Sweet grey stickyness!

But I saw grey haired women more than proving their manlihood (which Jer jsut told me isn't a word) on my in to work this morning. Once again they have started roadwork on 72, closing the left lane for a good half mile, so everyone merges to the right. Every once in a while a car zooms past on the left trying to get farther ahead. This pisses off a lot of people, but I'm a believer in alternating your merge where lanes are closing - it works well when I saw it in action in New Jersey. But the pissed off people in the right lane start to straddle the middle of the road trying to cut people off, as if to say "I am ahead of you and I intend it to stay that way." Most of the time it works. Today it wasn't working for a white van that was trying this gambit. While straddlingthe middle line, a minivan piloted by a grey haired woman zoomed up behind, then passed on the left and went merrily along her way. Distraught, the white van got back in the right lane. 5 minutes later a Toyota, piloted by another grey haired oldlady, comes up the left lane. Trying the gambit again, the white van slowly veers to the middle of the road, only to be passed by the old lady Toyota without much hesitation. Finally, the white van learned it's lesson and stayed in the right lane.

Next cars with their right turn signal on for miles will be passing everybody!

Alabama: Home of the Famous

05.28.2003

Everybody seems to know that the latest American Idol Reuben Studdard is from Birmingham, although locally he's known as "Alabama A&M's own", because god forbid somebodyfrom Alabama should do something and not somehow be affiliated with Huntsville. But there is another Alabama company growing in the entertainment business. Their product has appeared in Sweet Home Alabama and the 2 Matrix sequels. That company is Nippits, Inc., makers of nipple covering tape to the stars.

Blog Archive

As always, correct spelling is optional in any blog entry. Keep in mind that any links more than a year old may not be active, especially the ones pointing back to Russellmania (I like to move things around!).

Tags have been added to posts back to 2005. There may be an occasional old blog that gets added to the tag list, but in reality what could be noteworthy from that far back?
