This week continues the question about Mr T's prejudicedness.
Jerry and I have an ongoing debate about the term "shorty" and its use back in the days when we were growing up in The Hood. Yes, we may seem super white collar these days, but back in the 80's we had to be down to survive. Anyway, whenever one of tries to refer to a shorty, the other thinks he means something else. Jerry's use of the word is for "child" ([1],[2]), as in " Jer's shorty just turned one." My use of shorty tends to describe a female (usually girlfriend) ([3],[4],[5]), as in "My shorty done gone to get me a forty."
Which of us is right? I dunno. I found one listing that said a shorty was a little person. Is that another name for midget? Are we both completely off the mark? Do we need to just sit in front of our computers and control the world from our little office?
Just some random stories today:
2 men were awarded 30 freakin' million dollars after claiming Taco Bell stole the talking Chihuahua idea from them. You know, I thought of the Energizer Bunny way back in 1840. That's gotta be worth a couple of bucks.
Konami now makes a cell phone that doubles as an IR control for toy cars. Jerry kept talking me out of the IR car wars toys, but now that they can be controlled by a cell phone.....
3 days after the Atlanta Constitution Journal reports that motorcycles in Tennessee will be allowed to run some red lights (yet, even I mentioned it last week, the Maryville, Tn Daily Times reports that motorcycles in Tennessee will be allowed to run some red lights. It sucks when another state knows more about whats going on at home than you do.
This week, Mr T addresses accusations of prejudicial treatment toward others. Wow, sounds like I'm running for office or something.
After being glued to the tv on Monday nights watching their core of motorcycle shows, I thought it neat that Tennessee has now passed a bill allowing motorcycles to run redlights. It stems from the weight of the motorcycle and rider not being enough to trip the pressure plate for the light, but it sounds like (1) motorcyclists are going to be able to get away with more, and (2) motorcycle insurance rates in Tennessee are about to skyrocket.
Just to keep people saying "huh?", a court in England has ruled that the phrase "shizzle my nizzle" is not offensive.
So all you motorcyclists in Tennessee getting ready to run a light in front of my can just shizzle my nizzle!
I wonder what I just said?
As always, correct spelling is optional in any blog entry. Keep in mind that any links more than a year old may not be active, especially the ones pointing back to Russellmania (I like to move things around!).
Tags have been added to posts back to 2005. There may be an occasional old blog that gets added to the tag list, but in reality what could be noteworthy from that far back?
